Shapes and Letters

From 1985-1992 I was designing graffiti letterforms, at the time when this area was still being defined. I took a journey from typography to abstraction and from Futura 2000 via Syd Mead to Ellsworth Kelly. Airbrushing and marker pens progressed to early computer graphics and a need to translate my shapes into the new computer packages of the time such as Illustrator '88 and the early versions of Photoshop.

Here are some samples of shapes, some used for logos or in design work and others straight from some of piece books. A large selection of these were bound as a folio called Shapes and Letters in 1992.
